Fraser Island day tour discounts Fraser Island Tour specials

We were looking for an affordable Fraser Island tour so we checked our options. We want to go to Fraser Island to do a Fraser Island Tour for just 1 day, as we didn’t have time to do a 2 day overnight Fraser Island tour. We were travelling down the east coast and a trip to the famous Fraser Island was a must! Having used Cairns Discount Tours Visitor Information Centre to book our camper van and Great Barrier Reef trip at a brilliant cost, and quality service we decided to give them a call and book up our Fraser trip. He suggested one of the best companies were Fraser explorer tours, who offered one day tours of the island which was perfect. The trip was booked over the telephone at a discount price of course and payment was to be made on the day, easy! We were all set.

Where do Fraser Island Tours leave from?
Harvey Bay or Rainbow Beach?

Cairns Discount Tours had organized for us to get picked up from our accommodation. We got picked up outside our backpacker hostel in Rainbow beach our preferred departure point, however others are available. We jumped into a 40 seater 4×4 bus, a new experience for us. To our advantage there were only 8 others on board, think this was due to being a bank holiday. Our tour guide John was therefore able to give us a more personal tour which we loved! First stop, after a whizz down the beach, spotting dingos on the way, was at Eurong hotel for morning muffins and tea. We then started the adventure to Mckenzie lake, on a very bumpy but fun road through the sub tropical rainforest. The lake was amazing, we had one hour to enjoy the crystal clear waters and white sands, picture perfect! It was then time to leave and head to central station and pine valley. Here we learnt about the local people who previously inhabited the island, very interesting and John was very informative and full of knowledge.
We then headed down to the first creek of the day, on a short 20 minute walk, whilst John told us all about the different trees and animals. We then shot back to Eurong hotel for lunch. The buffet was perfect, plenty of choice and very tasty. After filling our bellies we headed up the 72 mile beach to our next stop the Maheno shipwreck, the perfect photo opportunity. Next stop, the pinnacles, interesting coloured rock formations and sands. It was just about the right time for our next swim. We headed back up the beach to Eli creek. We walked the short distance to where we were able to jump in and float back to the beach, great fun and although it was cold, it was super refreshing. We even went back for more! The day was nearly over and we started the journey back down the beach, taking the bumpy route as the tide was still hide.
What a great day, John our tour guide was funny and informative and clearly loved his job, but who wouldn’t! We definitely recommend the trip, particularly if you book thorough Cairns discount tours, same quality but at a cheaper price! It’s definitely been a highlight of our trip.
